My Proposal for the Scheduling of Seasons 7–8

        Hey Moffatt, listen up!

I propose starting Season 7 on November 17th and running one episode per week until December 15th. There will then be the Christmas Special on Christmas Day, then one episode per week starting on January 5th. This will give people time to travel and spend time with their families and not miss out on Doctor Who. The will then be a two-hour (including commercials) 50th Anniversary Special featuring at least Doctors 8–11. Season 8 will then resume on the normal April–July schedule in 2014. There might or might not be a 2012 Christmas Special (depends on if they can fit it into the productions schedule).

For those of you wondering how this relates to my first post a month ago, that was simply an April Fool's Day post pretending to be an actual announcement. This is a serious proposal.

What if the Time Lords blew up the TARDIS?

So it still hasn't been revealed who blew up the TARDIS or why. We're being led to believe it was the Silence, but what if it was actually the Time Lords? The Silence's attempts to interfere with the TARDIS in The Lodger could have been trying to prevent it from materializing on June 26th, 2010. That's assuming that it actually was a Silence time engine and that the interference was intentional.

The Time Lords actually have the means and the motive to destroy reality. They couldn't execute their plans within the time lock, so they would have had to use the Doctor. They might have tampered with the 8th/9th Doctor's TARDIS while he was still fighting the war. They just rigged it to detonate if it ever materialized on that date. The Doctor never actually went to that date until River did in The Pandorica Opens.

        Series 7, Episode 5 Spoilers

So episode 5 will be taking place in New York, and will feature the Weeping Angels. This we know for sure (I think). It appears that Rory will get sucked into the past by the angels. They filmed a scene with the Doctor and Amy reading a letter and looking very emotionally distraught. It appears Rory ends up living out his life without the Doctor and Amy, and sending them a letter. There is also a funeral scene, this might be Rory's, it might not. He could end up dying just after they receive the letter. Also, Rory and one other character were filmed looking at the Statue of Liberty as if there was something not quite right about it. It probably moved for just a moment, when no one was looking at it.

Matt Smith's Reign as the Doctor

So if David Tennant's length of stay as the Doctor is going to be the standard for the new series (4 years), Matt Smith should be around until 2014. On the other hand, they might cut it a bit short and have him go out in the 50th Anniversary Special (that post earlier saying he would was an April Fool's joke), though they've never had a regeneration on an anniversary before. One reason it might be longer than four years is if they decide not to get rid of the 12-regeneration limit, but want to keep the show around as long as possible before that. I can't imagine them ever wanting to kill the show, this time permanently. I think they're going to try and find a way of making 507 the new limit.

        Theory for New Companion

Moffat is not telling us the name of the new companion, which probably means she's a returning character. If she's being played by a new actor, then she must be a Time Lady who's regenerated. The only Time Ladies we've met are Susan, Romana, and Jenny (who doesn't have proper regenerative capabilities). If it's Romana or Susan, they might have been hiding in the TARDIS' cryogenic chamber (Moffat did say she'd be in the last place the Doctor would ever suspect, which could be his own TARDIS). After being in there for two centuries, her brain might have been addled and she'd be unable to remember how she got there. If the new companion was Jenny, she could have undergone a proper regeneration later on. She then could have been captured by the Daleks and held for interrogation on Skaro (the Doctor wouldn't expect to find a friend there, would he?). The Doctor would then have to come rescue her. Her interrogation by the Daleks could have damaged her brain, leading her to forget how she first came to be captured. The only problem with the Jenny theory (other than suddenly being able to regenerate properly) is that it doesn't seem very Christmas-y. Then again, all the Christmas specials whose plots haven't been copied from a book haven't been very Christmas-y.
