I know Sarah Jane/Elisabeth Sladen was dear to all of our hearts and no one could ever replace her, but sooner or later the BBC is going to need a new spin-off from Doctor Who. I would like to suggest one featuring Jenny (the Doctor's daughter, not the lame other one). I'm thinking a children's show as a direct replacement for the Sarah Jane Adventures.
The show could be announced immediately
after the conclusion of Series 7 of Doctor Who and Season 1 could air in
late summer as part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations. Right now,
the only Doctor Who spin-off is Torchwood, which is currently dead in
the water. They're going to need something new and fresh and exciting,
and the end of The Doctor's Daughter just leaves one massive plot hole
that needs filling.
Basically, it goes something like this. Jenny traveled back to 2005 Earth with a vortex manipulator she got from "some Stormcage inmate" (River Song) and got a job as a secret agent for Torchwood 1. Using her time traveler's knowledge of history, she managed to escape the Battle of Canary Wharf and the events of Children of Earth. She now lives in a London high-rise apartment with her completely ordinary roommate/lesbian girlfriend. Due to this being a children's show, the romantic involvement is minimized (she tells people she is in a relationship, but never says with whom, and she is strongly implied to be lesbian). She goes around eradicating minor alien invasions in Britain. She also sometimes has to stop humans from attacking aliens who simply crashed and have no understanding of Earth culture and thus did something offensive.
Sometime during season 2, she and her dad finally meet when they go after the same alien. After that episode, she continues, only with her own sonic screwdriver and the Doctor popping in once every now and then. The Doctor can explain to her that the reason she only partially regenerated was because she was only a few hours old. He could explain that regenerative functions don't fully take hold until age 3 or so.
She runs a website where people can report alien sightings and view advice on what to do in the event of an alien encounter. She makes money from the advertising revenue from that blog (plus her former massive Torchwood salary). This is also sometimes where she finds out about the alien for that episode.
I really hope someone from the BBC reads this, because this is one of my more serious proposals and could actually be made into a successful show. If they want the 50th Anniversary to be massive, I can see no better way than bringing back a Time Lady and giving her her own show.

Notification About Web Activity
Starting tomorrow (Saturday) at 11:20am MST, I will not be visiting any social media or Doctor Who news websites. I will remain logged off until sometime on Sunday when I have seen Asylum of the Daleks. I will not be able to watch the episode on Saturday because I don't get BBC America and it won't be on iTunes until midnight. Sometime on Sunday morning or evening I will force my family to watch it with me. It will only be then that I will get back on the internet and start posting spoilers. This will repeat every weekend for the rest of Series 7, Part 1.
UPDATE: Okay, I should be able to watch it at some point later today. I just have to wait for the traffic to die down on doctorwhomedia.co.uk.

How Amy & Rory Don't Get Divorced
Okay, so the clip from today confirms that Amy & Rory are planning a divorce. I think I've worked out what happens to stop them.
When Rory gets on the bus to take the divorce papers to court, that's when he gets kidnapped by the Daleks. The Doctor forces the two of them to make up and forgive each other for whatever happened. The papers never get filed, and the divorce never happens.

New Hi-Res Versions of New Movie-Style Posters
So in the process of trying to edit the last post pertaining to this, I broke the editor and had to start a new post. But anyway, yesterday the BBC released movie-style posters to the five episodes of Series 7, Part 1. I just obtained high resolution versions and am now posting them.
EDIT: Blogger appears to be shrinking them down so you can't see all 4,100 pixels. Sorry.

Ponds Get Divorced
The BBC has released some new clips, and Amy and Rory are most definitely getting divorced, in case any of you were still wondering.

Places I Would Like to Visit on Doctor Who
Inspired by The Destinations of Doctor Who (aired last night, available on iTunes), here is a list of places I would like the Doctor to visit in the future.
Please feel free to add your ideas in the comments below!
- the Library
- Mondas (I forget if it was destroyed or not)
- Satellite Five
- Venus before it melted (there was a civilization there at one point, because the Doctor knows a Venusian lullaby)
- Sontar (we've never actually been there except in an audio adventure)
- the Third Reich (I want to see Nazis vs. Daleks)
- Gallifrey (going there in its ancient history during the days of Rassilon and Omega would be cool)
- 1770s America (no sci-fi, purely historical)
- Skaro (I think we're going there in Asylum)
- an alternate universe where Britain never lost its empire but everyone else did

New Asylum of the Daleks Trailer
A new trailer for Series 7, Episode 1, Asylum of the Daleks has been released by the BBC, titled Predator of the Daleks.

By the way...
Be sure to check out this page for information on Series 7. Unfortunately, Blogger/Blogspot does not provide a way of letting you the reader know when I've updated a post. Just check it once a week or so, it's in the sidebar under April.
New Asylum of the Daleks Trailer Available Tomorrow
The BBC is releasing another trailer for Asylum of the Daleks tomorrow at 8 am. I'll be sure to post it when it becomes available.
By the way, I wonder if they're going to have a preview of the rest of the season at the end of Asylum? I don't think they did that at the end of the The Impossible Astronaut, but it'd be nice if they did it this year. They don't even have to do the entire season, though some of Part 2 would be nice. They just need some new clips from Part 1.

iTunes Has Pulled Leaked Air Date For Series 7
The iTunes posting for Series 7 previously stated that it would be released September 1st. It has now been altered to August 20th, the day it was actually made available. Could that have been a genuine mistake, or did someone at Apple leak the air date? Maybe a fan trying to reveal it to others, who was then reprimanded by their boss.

Season 7 is on iTunes!!!
Season 7, Part 1 is now on the iTunes store! US$13.99 for HD, $8.99 for SD. It also claims the release date is September 1st. I'm kinda suspicious of this date seeing as the item in the Season appears to be a slightly modified version of the March trailer. Maybe the date corresponds to the first non-free item in the season.

Price Drop on All Seasons on iTunes.
iTunes has just dropped prices on all seasons! Seasons 1-4 are down US$10 to $14.99. Season 5 HD is down $14 to $19.99. Season 6 Parts 1 & 2 HD is down $17 to $19.99 (assuming it was $36.99, I can't quite remember). Best of Specials, Season 1 HD are $4.99 (not sure what they were before). All other seasons (including Best of Specials, Season 2 currently airing on BBC America) are unchanged.
Possible September 8th Air Date
BBC America showed the following trailer yesterday morning and then immediately pulled it.
Could this mean Asylum of the Daleks will air on BBC America on September 8th? Or did someone jump the gun? Also, if it airs on September 8th in the US, will it air then in the UK as well? Or will it air in the UK on September 1st? I'm inclined to think they'll show it on the same day in both countries, just because if they don't, online piracy will lead to decreased viewership when it airs in the US. Also, if they do show it a week later in the US, will we get two episodes or will the US be a week behind for every episode?

Doctor Who Future Continuity
So here's my guess for when we're going to find out all the answers to the questions from Series 5 & 6.
As for the importance of the Doctor's name, I think that's going to be explained in Series 7, Part 1. I think this because the Ponds are probably going to be demanding an explanation as to why the Silence want to kill the Doctor. The Doctor will reveal something to them, I'm just not sure if he'll give them the full explanation. If we don't find out then, I think Clara is not going to know anything about this until the 50th Anniversary Specials. At that point there will definitely be a full explanation of why the Silence want to kill the Doctor and why his name is so important. That is the latest date I see this happening. Heck, even if it does get explained to the Ponds, Clara is going to need her own explanation and that's probably going to be the more detailed one.
As for the TARDIS exploding, I think that's definitely going to be explained in Series 7, Part 1. This is just because it's long overdue (I don't think it was ever mentioned at all in Series 6), and Clara is never going to bring it up. The Doctor would have to bring it up in the context of the Silence's other plots, assuming of course it was them at all (see my theory about the Time Lords being behind it). The Ponds would have to bring it up, just because it needs to be brought up by someone because we still don't have a proper explanation.
Some of our questions about River Song may never be answered. She's intended to be this mysterious character, and I think she's going to stay this way. If we know everything about her, that will take away some of the point of the character, and that would have to be the point where they write her out.
Trenzalore and the fall of the eleventh are probably going to take place at the end of Series 8. Moffat is probably going to employ reverse reverse psychology and have "the fall of the eleventh" be exactly what it sounds like, the 11th Doctor's regeneration. Based on current evidence which states that Matt Smith is still going to be here in 2014, I'm guessing he's leaving at the end of Series 8. At that point, the whole Series 5-8 story arc will be wrapped up and the Silence will be no more. Series 9 will feature the introduction of the 12th Doctor and the departure of Clara. Clara's replacement will be introduced either part way through Series 9 or at the beginning of Series 10.

According to this, the BBC is going to be adding information on every episode ever on this page here.

Blog Tweaks
As you may have noticed, I just updated the look of the blog. I changed the profile picture on all What's the point of running to your time machine? How can you be late? pages across the internet. I also changed the link color on Blogspot. I had to change the image to avoid infringing copyright. The old image of David Tennant running was one I lifted off the internet. It's from The End of Time, Part 1, and I don't even know where I got it from.
UPDATE: Light on top of TARDIS now glows properly. Also updated other pages with square version of image to avoid automatic cropping.
