Black Review

I wonder what Dean did to upset Cole. I'm guessing Dean killed someone he knew. Maybe Cole thought this person wasn't a monster or that there was an alternative. Either that, or he knows Dean is a dangerous hunter and thinks that as a demon he's too dangerous to live. Whatever the reason, I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. There may even be a scene where Cole shoots Dean and surprised when that doesn't kill him. Finding out that's he's now a demon may enrage Cole even more. When he finds out that usual demon methods won't kill Dean, he may opt to kill all of Dean's friends instead.

So far, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of a villain for this season. The only candidates we have so far are Dean and Cole. Cole could go on a mission to ruin the boys' lives, but that doesn't make for a very supernatural plot line since he's only human. If Cole were to do that, the boys could easily take him out using their skills. It may also be that there isn't a real villain in the season. The season may be spent with Sam trying to convince Dean to let him cure him and Dean deciding he's fine the way he is. Then maybe, in the finale there's some pivotal event that convinces Dean that being a knight of hell isn't all its cracked up to be.

Castiel seems to be rather worse for wear. It's unclear how much of his stolen grace is left, but it's decay seems to be manifesting in physical symptoms. I'm more concerned about why he was staying in what appears to be an ultra-cheap hotel. Isn't there a nice place up in heaven where he can stay? He certainly seems popular enough that the other angels would be willing to let him stay, even if here were only human. There's also (presumably) plenty of rooms in the bunker. There might be something on the angel tablet that could tell them how to restore his grace. Unfortunately, the only person capable of reading the tablet is Metatron (since he wrote it). They can't just use a prophet, since Metatron turned off the spell that creates new ones. Unless of course, Chuck isn't dead and is actually God.
