Mockingjay Comic Con Panel Members Confirmed
As previously announced, the Mockingjay, Part 2 panel at SDCC will take place on Thursday, July 9 at noon in Hall H. Lionsgate has now announced that Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Willow Shields, Francis Lawrence, and Nina Jacobson will all be part of the panel.

Big Finish Producing New Series Stories
Big Finish has announced that they will be producing several stories featuring new series characters and monsters. There will be ranges featuring River Song and Winston Churchill as well as stories where classic Doctors face off against new series monsters. Read the press release below,
Big Finish is proud to announce a new range of boxsets, featuring heroes and monsters from the New Series of Doctor Who.
Leading this new wave of adventures is Alex Kingston as River Song, the beloved Time Lord archaeologist who first appeared in 2008's Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead.
River will be stepping into the era of the Eighth Doctor (Paul McGann) for Doctor Who: Doom Coalition 2, alongside Liv Chenka (Nicola Walker) and Helen Sinclair (Hattie Morahan). But how can River help her husband if, in this incarnation, she must never actually meet him?
“The idea of River meeting previous Doctors was actually proposed by Steven Moffat,” says producer David Richardson, “and it's just irresistible, isn't it? Alex embraced the idea of returning to the role, and so she will be starring in no less than two box sets next year. And yes, we are still pinching ourselves!”
River will then return later in 2016 in Doctor Who: The Diary of River Song, an epic four-hour adventure that takes River across space and time, seeking out the secret rulers of the universe. Paul McGann will reprise the role of the Eighth Doctor in the final instalment.
The New Series adventures will continue in Doctor Who: The Churchill Years, in which Ian McNeice returns as the indomitable Winston Churchill. In the four-hour saga, Winston relates a number of encounters with the Ninth, Tenth and Eleventh Doctors in his memoirs, battling alien incursions, metamorphosing creatures... and a Dalek! The stories are told by Ian McNeice, supported by a full cast of guest actors, including Danny Horn as Kazran Sardick, in a story taking place within the 2010 special A Christmas Carol.
“Ian has played Churchill in just four episode on TV, and yet it feels like it was many more,” says executive producer Nicholas Briggs. “It was such a brilliant, definitive performance, and how wonderful that we will be continuing Churchill's adventures with the Doctor on audio.”
Finally, the Fifth, Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Doctors will face a new generation of monsters in Doctor Who: Classic Doctors, New Monsters, a brand new, four-story run featuring creatures from the New Series. Peter Davison takes on the Weeping Angels, Colin Baker encounters the Judoon, Sylvester McCoy will meet the Sycorax... and Paul McGann will face a new clone batch of Sontarans on the edge of the Time War....
“It's the ultimate mash-up,” says executive producer Jason Haigh-Ellery, “and we have some great scripts lined up for these landmark stories. There is no doubt that 2016 is going to be a brilliant year for Big Finish!”
All four boxsets will be released across 2016, and are available to pre-order today from the Big Finish website. Doctor Who: Doom Coalition 2 will be released in February, and is available as part of a special bundle of all four Doom Coalition boxsets.

Doctor Who Festival Australia Announced
The BBC has announced that the official Doctor Who Festival will be having a second venue in Sydney, Australia at the Royal Hall of Industries and Horndern Pavillion. The event will take place on the weekend of November 21-22 with Peter Capaldi and Steven Moffat in attendance, along with others yet to be announced. Tickets cost $195 for adults and $99 for children 16 and under. There is also TARDIS package that goes for $395 for adults and $295 for children, though they don't say what it includes. Both packages go on sale July 6 at 11am.

Supernatural S11 Premiere News
According to TV Line, the season premiere of Supernatural is titled The Bad Seed and will air on October 7. It features new bad girl Amara, described as "a femme fatale in her late 20s who possesses an acid tongue and a seductive beauty. The fearmonger is new to Earth and is so not impressed with the place. That doesn’t stop her from sticking around; she’s set to recur throughout the season." She also shares a name with a figure from Greek mythology who is the primeval goddess of the day (maybe tying in with the darkness we saw in the finale. The episode is also directed by Jensen Ackles.

Tom Holland Cast as Peter Parker
Marvel has announced that Tom Holland (Wolf Hall, The Impossible) will play Peter Parker in the 2017 film directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car). Tom Rothman, Sony Pictures Motion Pictures Group Chairman commented,

Titan Comics Confirms Year Two
Titan Comics has announced that Year Two of their 10th and 11th Doctor ranges will begin publication in September. The 11th Doctor range will be co-written by Si Spurrier and Rob Williams with art by Simon Fraiser and Warren Peece. The synopsis reads,

Marvel SDCC Details
According to TV Line, Marvel's television panel at San Diego Comic Con will be hosted in Ballroom 20 on Friday at 3pm. Executive producer Jeph Loeb will moderate the panel featuring Agents of SHIELD producers Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen and cast members Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain de Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Henry Simmons, Adrianne Palicki, Nick Blood, and Luke Mitchell. SDCC Exclusive Doctor Who Comics
Titan Comics has revealed several Doctor Who comics that will only be available at San Diego Comic Con. These include a special story featuring the Twelfth Doctor and Clara and several covers for some other issues. The synopsis for the new story reads,

Lionsgate has released information on the Mockingjay panel at San Diego Comic Con. It appears it will be a joint panel with The Last Witch Hunter.

Rigsy to Return to Doctor Who
The BBC has confirmed that Joivan Wade, who played graffiti artist Rigsy in last year's episode Flatline will return in episode 9x10 later this year. They've also stated that the episode will be written by Sarah Dollard (Being Human, The Game) and directed by Justin Molotnikov (previously reported here). Dollard commented,
Getting to play in the Doctor Who toy box is a dream come true. It’s a total honour to contribute to a show that has brought me such joy as a fan. However, writing for Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman has presented a serious problem: some days I've been too excited to actually sit down and type!

Hunger Games Franchise Wraps Filming
Francis Lawrence and Nina Jacobson tweeted yesterday about the end of filming on the Hunger Games franchise. Most of the filming actually ended last year, with only the epilogue remaining to film this month. Mockingjay, Part 2 now enters post-production and will play in theaters this November.

UNIT: The New Series Cast Revealed
Big Finish has announced the rest of the cast members in their upcoming range about the Unified Intelligence Taskforce. In addition to the already announced Jemma Redgrave, Ingrid Oliver will be reprising her role from the television series as Osgood. Joining them will be Warren Brown (Captain Webb, X Company) as UNIT troubleshooter Lieutenant Sam Bishop, Ramon Tikaram (Game of Thrones, Jupiter Ascending) as Colonel Shindi, and James Joyce (Downtown Abbey, The Musketeers) as loose cannon Captain Josh Carter. Producer David Richardson commented,
We're so happy to have Kate and Osgood joining us at Big Finish. This team has been so captivating to watch on TV, and we're looking forward to throwing some deadly challenges in their paths in these kinetic new episodes.
We've worked with Warren several times before, and even though he's one of the busiest leading men around, he's said he'll be there for Big Finish. So we've created a principle role in UNIT especially for him, and he'll be an essential member of the global team.

Henry Simmons Promoted to Series Regular
Marvel has officially promoted Henry Simmons (Alphonso Mackenzie) to series regular in the upcoming season of Agents of SHIELD. Executive producer Jeph Loeb commented,
Mack’s story from Season 2 left him at a great place for us to continue, opening up new possibilities for the character as he takes charge of overseeing S.H.I.E.L.D.’s storehouse of unexplainable or alien objects. We couldn’t be more excited to add Mack to our regular cast of heroes.

James Wan to Direct Aquaman
Warner Bros. has officially announced that James Wan (Furious 7) will direct 2018's Aquaman movie. The film will also star Jason Momoa as the lead actor; Kurt Johnstad as scriptwriter; and Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, and Zack Snyder as producers. Warner Bros. President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production, Greg Silverman, commented,
We’ve been so lucky to have worked with James, first on New Line’s The Conjuring and now on their upcoming The Conjuring 2 and are thrilled to have him on board as we continue to expand our DC slate.
